Muddy Rainbow

I got my rainbow and it is the now infamous matte pintaloosa, plain and flat looking.  She has grown on me but I still am disappointed.  So I did buy another set to try again.  I need my head examined!  Now I have WG bodies lying around here, something I did not need.  I even primed one in thinking I'd paint it.  What am I, crazy?  I've never painted a model horse in my life.  So there she sits in all her white glory wishing someone would do something with her.

I am much less enamoured with the mold too.  She doesn't stand reliably and really, what does one do with her?  She is basically useless for performance.  Lesson learned, don't get caught up in the hype of a new mold!

I did find a photo show to maybe enter.  First I have to take photos and the club, called the Model Horse Fun Club, takes into consideration the setting too which I would have to work on.  I decided to join anyway and maybe paint a couple horses and just photo show them.

But first, try just some OFs that I have and try it out.  I never photo showed either so it is all new to me.

WG's Unleashed

I broke down and took the other two WGs out of their boxes.  The palomino stands the best, the other two need a little balancing. No one has rubs, thank goodness.  They are so pretty.  I am glad I bought them all.

I mailed the UPCs in yesterday.

Arabs Arabs Everywhere!

Wow, I never realized I had so many Arabian model horses!  I haven't been a big fan of Arabians since I was in school, then I was in love with Khemosabi and the Black Stallion especially Flame the Island Stallion!  I was in love with bright red horses.  Man O' War, Secretariat.  My dream Arabian was a bright sorrel w/flaxen m/t, four white legs and a blaze. Breyer's rendition of Flame was as big a bust as was their Khemosabi in my opinion.  Boo hiss!

Anyway I was looking at some of my horses last night and I have the three WGs, two S Justadreams (I was going to paint one...like that will ever happen since I have never painted a model), a Khemo and a Classic Arab stallion I actually primed awhile back but of course, never painted.

I know I have a bunch of PAM, PAS and some foals too.  And my one Stone Arab.  It seems my most recent additions though are the newer Arabians.  Is it just because suddenly there are so many coming out?

I Am Back

Sorry for the silence.  I was busy getting ready for my brother's wedding.  Then there is the long trip home and I stayed a few days to see everyone.  Driving around my old home town was a real trip!  It is like in the almost 20 years I have been gone someone scooped the place up and rearranged and rebuilt it!  It was so surreal!

The wedding was simple and lovely.  10 minutes of legal stuff and four hours of fun.  It was something our family needed after the long two years of my Dad's cancer overshadowing everything!  His "deathiversary" is on Easter and is already hard on Mom.  So this little distraction was very welcome.

I returned home to my three Weather Girls!  Surprisingly the one I like the best is the black one!  Normally I love color and flash.  They are still in their boxes, I don't know if I will remove them anytime soon since they don't look like they stand too well.  I need to clip the UPCs and get them out.  I have been staying off the message board for the most part for fear of seeing what the Rainbow is.  I sorta' want it to be a surprise yet I am nosy too, LOL.

A Gift

Here is an unusual girl.  She is a doorstop!   The minute I saw her at my friend Mary's house it was instant love.  Imagine my surprise when she gifted me with her many years later.  You see, Mary is blind now and sees no reason to keep her beloved horses.  I feel truly blessed to own her now.  I named her BRR Marys Wings.

First Post

Hi there.  My name is CeCe and I am almost 50 yrs. old.  I am married with two adult children, both boys.  They are still at home.  Both work full time and one is also going to school.  I look forward to the day they move out as then I will have my very own space!  Yay!  But for now I make due.

I am owned by a kitty named Tabitha, or Tabby for short.  She is my constant companion and I love her dearly.

We have a hobby farm and my husband has beef cows.  I plan on getting some chicks this year.

I have a lot of interests, too many for the time, money and my short attention span.  My main hobby is collecting model horses.  I have had some since I was little but just discovered the whole model showing thing since I went online.  It is a bit overwhelming!

I love all horses.  My collection seems to consist mainly of ponies, draft horses, Arabians and some gaited horses.  But I have a little of everything I think.  I prefer the traditional or classic size.

Blue Ribbon Ranch is the name of my model horse farm.  I named it that as my father passed away from colon cancer last April and I so miss him!  He was the one who supported my love of horses the most, even took me to the real Lipizzaner show back in the 70's which is forever burned in my brain complete with Arthur Godfrey and his talented palomino.  Even now, almost a year later, talking about my Dad makes me choke up.

Also, to me, all my models are blue ribbon winners in my eyes!

I don't know what this blog will be about but I thought I would try one out.
